Gefascineerd door de ongelofelijke snelheid van ons hedendaagse leven, waarbij iedereen zo veel mogelijk in een dag wil doen, ben ik gaan onderzoeken wat ‘traag’ op dit moment precies voor ons inhoudt. We nemen nauwelijks de tijd voor kleine dingen en vinden het lastig ons te focussen op meer verdieping. Ik wil met mijn werk de nadruk leggen op het belang van meer vertraging in ons leven waarbij ik onderzoek heb gedaan naar de meest minimale stimuli, die het maximale doet bereiken.
In dit ruimtelijke werk zie je dat de extreme traagheid zich op een positieve manier presenteert.
Light Installation
Get a sensous experience of slowness when entering the the work Standing Still is Progress. The work poses the question of to what extend we can still tolerate and accept slow images in a hasty and ever-changing visual contemporary society. Here we are forces to stand still in order to progress.
My choice of materials and visual language creates tactile and poetic experiences that capture the audiences in moments beyond space and time.
